This Screams Putin: Russian General Poisoned By Toxic Letter, And Lived To Tell About It

A Russian general was recently poisoned after touching a letter with an unknown substance.

However, he took quick action to ensure that he was safe, as did everyone else that handled the letter. He is expected to live to tell about the situation.

Business Insider states, Kadyrov, who is also a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said his top general in Ukraine has been poisoned after handling a letter sent to him on February 8.

Apti Alaudinov is a general in charge of the Akhmat special forces. He says the letter was saturated in a substance and that he was alerted by the bitter smell on the envelope. After that, he washed his hands and rinsed out his nasal cavities to protect himself. Other people that touched the letter did the same thing. Then, they went to a medical clinic in Moscow for medical attention and are recovering.

No one knows who sent the letter that could have killed the Russian general. However, Kadyrov, an ally close to Vladimir Putin, says they are investigating the matter. According to Kadyrov, the investigation has produced results, but Russia has not released any information regarding those results.

Alaudinov was known before the military operations in Ukraine began. Business Insider says, Before the war, Alaudinov led Chechnyas police force, which had been accused of torturing and imprisoning members of the LGBTQ+ community, ABC News reported. As a result, he was placed on a U.S. sanctions list.

However, this is not the first incident since the war began in Ukraine. Last year, Roman Abramovich was temporarily blind after he was poisoned during negotiations with Ukraine.

Tensions continue to mount across the globe, leading anyone to guess who could have sent the letter.
