Reporter Caught On Hot Mic Saying THIS About Ron DeSantis

A local journalist in Florida was recorded saying her duty is to make Governor Ron DeSantis of the Republican Party feel uncomfortable."

At an event in Jacksonville that DeSantis attended, Atyia Collins, a First Coast News reporter, was heard having a conversation with someone concerning her reporting of the press conference.

Collins said, "No my job is to ask the tough questions and make him uncomfortable I guess."

Collins recounted how her web manager had asked that she rush up to the speaker when he stepped off the stage and yell questions at him, which Collins thought would be ineffective. "He already doesn't like the media," Collins was heard saying.

Christina Pushaw, DeSantis' rapid response director, took to Twitter to express her disapproval of the "journactivist".

Fox News asked for a comment from First Coast News but did not receive a response right away.

At a press conference, Collins asked DeSantis about the "empty" school bookshelves in Duval County following the executive order against pornographic materials from children's books. She mentioned the video that had gone viral the previous month, but the governor quickly declared it to be part of a "fabricated narrative."

DeSantis remarked, "This is trying to create some narrative as if that they hadn't even put the books out yet to begin with, so there's no need for all of that stuff. What they're trying to do is they're trying to act like somehow, you know, we don't want books."

Last week, the office of Governor DeSantis was under attack by Alyssa Farah Griffin from "The View", who charged him with "erasing" African American history due to his rejection of a proposed Advanced Placement course in African American History, which he criticized for being led by a "political agenda."

Farah Griffin later took to Twitter to apologize, mentioning that she had "tripped up" and accidently misrepresented DeSantis' position on the matter.
