This Is Ludacris! Dem South Dakota Rep Causes An UPROAR With Her Opinion on Traditional Family Values

Erin Healy, a Democrat representing South Dakota, denounced the perception that a married mother and father constitute a safe home environment for children as a "dangerous and un-American belief."

"Extremist group Family Heritage Alliance said this morning that the safest place for kids are in families that have a married mom and dad. What a dangerous and un-American belief," she tweeted.

The mission of the Family Heritage Alliance, is for "South Dakota be a state where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is valued."

Healy expressed her disappointment at the rejection of a proposal to change the definition of marriage to one between two people, instead of the traditional man and woman. She shared a tweet from a journalist who reported that the House Affairs Committee voted 7-5 against the bill.

"The grip from fundamentalist groups who only believe in nuclear families is strong at our state legislature today. I am disgusted by the extremist opposition we heard today and disappointed we couldn't pass such a simple, important bill," was her tweet.

Delano Squires tweeted, questioning Healy "It takes exactly one man and one woman to make a child. In what world is it 'dangerous and un-American' to believe that childrenall else being equalhave the highest chance at positive outcomes in a loving home with the people who created them?

Someone else tweeted "I thought this was a parody until I looked at the rest of her timeline. Children do best with a mother and father in a healthy, committed relationship. That's reality. I guess reality is too extreme for her."

On Monday, Kristi Noem, the Governor of South Dakota and a member of the Republican Party, signed into law a policy that prevents health care workers from performing gender reassignment surgeries or any other type of transgender-related treatments for minors.

Healy referred to this bill as an example of "extremism at its finest," and declared that "kids are going to die because of this bill."
