The Look On ABC Host George Stephanopoulos' Face When He Sees Poll Results Is PRICELESS

In a recent development that has left ABC hosts George Stephanopoulos and Jonathan Karl visibly taken aback, a new poll has indicated that President Biden is lagging behind Donald Trump in several pivotal states.

The hosts described the poll results as "frightening" to many.

During a segment on "Good Morning America," Stephanopoulos acknowledged the poll's implications as "tough news for Joe Biden."

Karl, on the other hand, interpreted the poll as a wake-up call, stating, "This is frightening for not just the Biden White House, not just for Democrats, but for anybody who fears what a return to a Trump presidency would mean. He can win. The New York Times poll is not the first one to say this."

The poll in question, conducted by The New York Times in collaboration with Sienna College and released on Sunday, showed Trump leading Biden in several key battleground states. According to the poll, Trump was ahead by 10 points in Nevada, six points in Georgia, five points in both Arizona and Michigan, and four points in Pennsylvania. Biden's only lead was in Wisconsin, where he surpassed Trump by two points.

Karl further elaborated on the challenges Biden faces, stating, "The biggest challenge for Biden is its not just people have suddenly fallen in love with the idea of Trump going back to the White House. They havent. Its that only 23% of the country, in our poll, think the country is on the right track." This statement was supported by the results of a new ABC poll, which found that 76% of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.

Stephanopoulos proposed that these sentiments might shift if Trump were to be indicted. Karl concurred, stating, "Voting for a convicted felon is another thing entirely."

Karl also referenced a story from The Washington Post, stating, "There was a fascinating story consistent with my reporting in The Washington Post talking about how he wants to prosecute his political opponents. Not only his rivals. This would be a very radical Trump presidency, much more so than even the first one."

David Axelrod, a former adviser to Obama, suggested in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that it might be "wise" for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 race. He stated, "Only @JoeBiden can make this decision. If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it's in HIS best interest or the country's?"

Axelrod further warned, "The @POTUS is justly proud of his accomplishments. Trump is a dangerous, unhinged demagogue whose brazen disdain for the rules, norms, laws and institutions or democracy should be disqualifying. But the stakes of miscalculation here are too dramatic to ignore."
