Hands-Off: Maryland Democrat Pushes This New Gun Legislation, Angering 2A Supporters

Written by Published

Maryland Democrats are back at it again with their latest push to try to impose more restrictions on a Constitutional right.

Unsurprisingly, the Democrats are again after the Second Amendment right to firearms.

Breitbart reports that Maryland Delegate Pam Queen (D) is trying to move a piece of legislation requiring embedded trackers to be placed in all firearms sold in Maryland. Her bill is known as HB 704 and reads in part:

FOR the purpose of prohibiting a person from engaging in a certain bulk firearm transfer unless each firearm that is part of the transfer contains a certain tracker; requiring a seller or other transferor who engages in a bulk firearm transfer to transmit to the Secretary of State Police certain information; providing that a violation of this Act is a civil offense; requiring the Secretary to establish a certain database; and generally relating to tracking technology for firearms.

The bill also indicates that the tracking technology would need to be implemented into the firearm so that removing this technology would disable the guns ability to be used. That is a big deal for all gun owners in Maryland.

National Shooting Sports Foundations general counsel, Larry Keane, spoke about this latest push for more gun control by saying:

Not only is this a clear invasion of privacy rights and Constitutional protections against illegal search-and-seizure, this is an idea thats not even technologically possible. This is the stuff of Hollywood and antigun politicians that dont understand the first thing about firearms or manufacturing processes.

It seems very much that Democrats are interested in trying to do everything that they can to eliminate the Constitutionally protected right to own guns. Why they want to continue to do this while also complaining and making waves about other issues is something that many do not understand. This hypocritical nature is worth examining, but the main point is that they shouldnt be permitted to get away with something like this moving forward.
