Controversial New York City Racial Equity Chair Appointed By Eric Adams NOW Facing Allegations Of Antisemitism

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has recently appointed Linda Tigani as the chair and executive director of the city's Commission on Racial Equity.

However, Tigani's appointment has sparked controversy due to her history of sharing posts that are allegedly antisemitic, as reported by the New York Post.

Tigani, who earned over $140,000 in 2022 as the acting chief equity and strategy officer for the city's Health Department, has reportedly shared several posts on social media that have been interpreted as antisemitic. One such post includes the phrase, "from the river to the sea," a slogan often used by Hamas terrorists advocating for the destruction of Israel.

On July 1, 2020, Tigani posted on social media, "FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA! PALESTINE WILL BE FREE!!" This post, which is only accessible to those whom Tigani has granted permission, reportedly included a video clip from the so-called "Day of Rage" rally in Brooklyn, where protesters chanted "Death to America" and "Death to Israel."

The New York Post also highlighted that Tigani has used her social media platform to share video footage highlighting Israeli attacks against Palestinians earlier this year. However, she did not acknowledge the acts of terrorism that Hamas has perpetrated against Israel.

Despite her apparent support for Palestinians over Israelis, Tigani has not publicly condemned the attacks by Hamas on Israelis on October 7, which resulted in the death of 1,400 Israelis. The surprise attack also led to an unknown number of hostages being taken.

The Commission on Racial Equity, an independent body, aims to engage with New York residents to shape the city's racial equity priorities, which have been a subject of controversy, as noted by the Post.

City Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli has pointed out the irony in Tigani's past actions, stating: "So the wokester who is supposed to call out racism has spewed some racist antisemitic garbage." He further commented on the situation, saying, Hypocrite is probably the only thing I can call her that The Post wont bleep out."

The support for Palestine among left-leaning Americans, who view Israel as a colonial power, has been significant. However, these same individuals have not condemned the actions of Hamas and other militant groups in the Middle East.
