Chaos And Tragedy: Suspect In Michigan State Shooting Found Dead After Murder Spree

Late Monday, it was reported that the individual suspected of perpetrating the shooting at Michigan State University was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound away from the schools campus.

Chris Rozman, Interim Deputy Chief of MSU Police, declared, "There is no longer a threat on campus and the shelter-in-place has been lifted.

"This truly has been a nightmare that we are living tonight, but we have remained laser-focused on the safety of our campus, our students, and our surrounding community," he added.

Law enforcement had previously characterized the person of interest as a "black male, shorter in stature, red shoes, jean jacket, wearing a baseball cap that is navy with a lighter brim." Rozman stated that the deceased individual was consistent with the description of the suspect but declined to provide the suspects identity.

At a late-night press conference yesterday, according to Rozman, three have been killed, and five people have been taken to Sparrow Hospital, some being in critical condition.

Law enforcement answered to accounts of a live shooting at Michigan State University in East Lansing Monday night and asked students to take refuge inside.

At 8:18 pm, an incident occurred in Berkey Hall, where MSU's Department of Sociology is located, situated on the northern side of the campus. At 8:31 pm, an order was issued to all students to remain in their location and barricade themselves.

The MSU alert announced "Run, Hide, Fight. Run means evacuate away from danger if you can do so safely, Hide means to secure-in-place, and Fight means protect yourself if no other option."

Many FBI, ATF, Michigan State Police, and other law enforcement personnel are still offering their help on campus. All campus events have been placed on hold for two days, and the authorities have requested that nobody make their way to the campus on Tuesday.
