The upcoming Republican presidential primary debate, set to take place on November 8, will be moderated by NBC's Lester Holt and Kristen Welker, along with conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt.
The debate will be held at the prestigious Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.
While the final list of candidates is yet to be confirmed, only five contenders currently meet the polling requirements to qualify for the debate stage. These candidates include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
However, the current frontrunner, former President Donald Trump, has already announced that he will not be participating in the debate. Instead, he will be attending a nearby rally, a move he has made in the past.
According to Politico, former Vice President Mike Pence has met the polling requirements but still needs to reach the 70,000-donor mark. On the other hand, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina has yet to meet either threshold, although his campaign claims he has fulfilled the polling requirements.
It is worth noting that Lester Holt previously moderated the Democratic primary presidential debate in 2020, while Kristen Welker moderated a 2020 presidential debate between former President Trump and Joe Biden. As for Hugh Hewitt, he brings a wealth of experience, having worked in the Ronald Reagan administration and currently hosting the nationally syndicated "Hugh Hewitt Show."
With this diverse panel of moderators, the upcoming Republican primary debate promises to be an engaging and insightful event, providing voters with the opportunity to hear from the candidates and make informed decisions.
