Piers Morgan, a host on FOX Nation, has expressed strong criticism towards pro-Palestinian protests taking place in Europe, following warnings to Jewish individuals in Berlin, Germany, to refrain from public displays of their faith.
The city of Berlin has recently experienced a surge in anti-Israel sentiment, leading a local official to reluctantly advise Jewish residents to conceal their faith, in light of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas. Gner Balci, the integration commissioner, in an interview with German news outlet Der Spiegel, attributed this situation to political leaders' failure to address anti-Israeli attitudes, while prioritizing the fight against anti-Muslim racism.
Balci stated, "I would not advise anybody to make their Jewish faith visible in Neuklln. Those who wear the kippa already faced the prospect of being spat on or insulted in quieter times. As a sign of solidarity, we have raised an Israeli flag in front of the Neuklln City Hall and have done so under police protection just to be on the safe side." She further questioned, "Isn't it sick that such things have become normal in Germany?"
Morgan, during his appearance on "Fox & Friends," criticized recent global protests, including those in Australia where chants called for Jews to be gassed. He noted the occurrence of massive protests near his residence in London. While acknowledging the historical struggles of Palestinians as a "very real concern," he pointed out that the protests lacked criticism for Hamas' massacre of Israeli citizens.
Morgan said, "You think this is the right moment in the immediate aftermath of what happened on October the 7th, that that is the moment you go out with your, in some cases, pro-Hamas flags saluting and celebrating what these people did." He recounted witnessing two young women sporting paraglider badges, a reference to Hamas terrorists using paragliders to infiltrate the "Supernova Sukkot Gathering," resulting in a massacre and hostage situation.
Morgan, host of "The Piers Morgan Uncensored," also condemned the spread of misinformation, which has either downplayed or outright denied the murder of Jews by Hamas. He singled out the British Broadcasting Company (BBC), accusing them of using "unconscionable" language in their coverage of the conflict.
Morgan stated, "It's complete nonsense that they've talked to terrorists. They've called other terror groups terrorists, but they won't do it with Hamas. If you can't call what happened on October the 7th an act of terrorism, multiple barbaric acts of terrorism, then there is something wrong with you."
In response to violent anti-Israel protests, Germany has implemented stricter measures on pro-Palestinian demonstrations. This follows incidents of citizens attacking police and celebrating the deaths of Israelis. Additional demonstrations planned for the following week were subsequently banned.
The conflict began when Hamas launched several rockets and invaded Israel on October 7, prompting Israel to declare war. The death toll has reached at least 1,300 Israelis and 29 Americans, with fears that Hamas has taken more than 200 hostages. In the meantime, pro-Palestinian protests and demonstrations supporting the attacks have taken place in several cities across Europe and the U.S.
Morgan described the demonstrations and rhetoric surrounding the attacks as "completely disgusting."
