MTG "Chews Out" Admin Officials During Briefing On China Spy Balloon

The Republican Representative from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene, leaves little to the imagination when she speaks her mind.

Thats precisely what happened on Thursday when Greene reamed administration officials in a classified briefing Thursday, as the Chinese Spy Balloon continued its trek across the United States where it was first detected on January 28.

According to The Hill, Green said, I had to wait in line the whole time. I was, I think, the second to last person, and I chewed them out just like the American people wouldve. I tore em to pieces. The meeting behind the Capitols closed doors briefed House members about the weekends takedown of the surveillance device off the coast of the Carolinas. This after days of surveilling the balloon as it floated from the west to the east coast.

Greens fiery words summed up GOP sentiment, she said. President Joe Biden said he had told the military to shoot the balloon as soon as possible. He noted that national security officials chose to wait until it was over water.

The Biden administration was under fire as the balloon wasnt, while Republican lawmakers criticized the decision to wait to shoot it down.

The Georgia representative stated, I said the President may be a Democrat, but hes still the President of the United States, and they made him look like a fool and made him look weak the week before the State of the Union Ive said that publicly too by not shooting it down.

Green continued, And I said there was nothing I heard there today that gave me any confidence in what they did.

The Hill reported Representative Gregory Meeks of New York said there was tension in the room.

When asked about how others in the room responded to her criticism, Green told The Hill, They tried to give me some more excuses, and I said, I dont want to hear more of your excuses, He said, well its a matter of opinion. I said, no, youre nothing but excuses, and its wrong, and Im just telling you, this is how the American people see it, and its a serious problem.

On February 4, the balloon was shot down by the United States Air Force. A military operation recovered the debris. Illinois Representative Brad Schneider, a Democrat, explained the decision to wait to shoot it down. He said it was in order to recover it and learn lessons.

Greene noted after the briefing that no information was given that gave us good reason to think they made the right move. As a matter of fact, they made the wrong move.
