In an attempt to delve into the psyche of an alleged killer, former prosecutor and crime expert Nancy Grace has launched a new FOX Nation special, "Brian Kohberger: I Am Blank.
".
The special seeks to unravel the enigma that is Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in a quadruple murder case in Idaho.
In an exclusive segment of "Nancy Grace Investigates," Grace revisits Kohberger's middle school years, interviewing individuals from his past who have never before spoken on camera. Among these is Jack Baylis, a former friend of Kohberger, who shared with FOX Nation their frequent discussions about women and their shared frustrations with the dating scene. Baylis revealed that they often felt "ghosted" by women, a term used to describe the act of being ignored without explanation in online interactions.
Dr. Kris Mohandie, a clinical, police, and forensic psychologist, provided insight into this frustration, identifying it as a common sentiment among "incels," or involuntary celibates, typically young men who express their grievances online.
Kohberger is accused of murdering four University of Idaho students in November 2022, three of whom were women. He was subsequently arrested and charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary while pursuing a Ph.D. in criminology.
His trial is currently on hold after his attorneys waived his right to a speedy trial, citing the need for more time to construct a defense. The FOX Nation special also revealed that Kohberger had communicated to a friend about his long-standing depression and his development of a "weird sense of meaning."
Baylis further disclosed that Kohberger would become "aggressive" when inebriated, leading his friends to hide his car keys. He also suggested that Kohberger had used "other sketchy drugs." Kohberger had previously overcome a heroin addiction and faced charges in 2014 for attempting to sell his sister's iPhone, allegedly while under the influence of heroin at the age of 19. Despite these revelations, Nancy Grace stated on "Americas Newsroom" that Kohberger's alleged substance abuse is unlikely to be used as a defense in his trial.
Steve Goncalves, the father of one of the victims, expressed to FOX News Digital his belief that Kohberger is receiving preferential treatment in jail. He stated, "I've been informed that his pretrial privileges, like his five suits, video and computer special treatment and vegan meals are unprecedented in the history of Idaho."
The sheriff's office has not responded to requests for comment. Goncalves' daughter, Kaylee, 21, was discovered dead alongside her best friend and housemate, Madison Mogen, 21, in their rental home near the university campus. Their other housemate, Xana Kernodle, and her boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, both 20, were also found dead on the premises. All four victims had been stabbed to death, according to the county coroner.
Kohberger has been detained without bail at the Latah County Jail in Moscow, Idaho, since January. The special "Bryan Kohberger: I Am Blank" is currently available for streaming on FOX Nation.
