WATCH: Bill Maher RIPS Apart This Hollywood Blockbuster

Bill Maher, renowned comedian and political commentator, recently shared his thoughts on the highly-discussed film "Barbie."

While he expressed his enjoyment of the movie, he also described it as "preachy, man-hating, and a Zombie Lie."

In his scathing critique, Maher explained the concept of a Zombie Lie, stating, "What is a Zombie Lie? Something that never was true but certain people refuse to stop saying it (tax cuts for the rich increase revenues, e.g.); OR something that USED to be true but no longer is, but certain people pretend it's still true. 'Barbie' is this kind of Zombie Lie."

One of Maher's main criticisms of the film was its focus on the patriarchy, which he argued was outdated. He pointed out that the movie portrays Barbie fighting against the patriarchy, particularly the Mattel board that created her, which is depicted as consisting of 12 white men.

Maher, however, highlighted that in reality, the Mattel board comprises seven men and five women. While acknowledging that it may not be a perfect gender balance, he emphasized that it no longer deserves to be labeled as the "patriarchy." Maher asserted, "Yes, there was one, and remnants of it remain - but this movie is so 2000-LATE."

Contrary to the movie's portrayal, Mattel's website reveals that the board of directors actually consists of 11 members, including six men and five women. Maher's argument thus challenges the accuracy of the film's depiction.
