Leah Remini Takes On Scientology In Explosive Lawsuit: Allegations Of Stalking, Harassment, And Psychological Torture Revealed

Leah Remini, an actress and producer, has filed a lawsuit against the Church of Scientology and its leader, David Miscavige, alleging stalking, harassment, intimidation, surveillance, and defamation.

In an article published on her Substack, Remini expressed her determination to continue speaking out against the church despite the attempts to silence her. She emphasized that her lawsuit is not just about her personal experiences but also about the thousands of others who have been targeted by Scientology over the years.

Remini, a former member of the Church of Scientology, accused the organization of using "mob-style tactics" to ruin her life after she left in 2013. She revealed that she was labeled a "Suppressive Person" or an enemy of the church, which led to a campaign against her.

The lawsuit explained that actions against Suppressive Persons are carried out by members of the Sea Organization, Scientology's internal security and legal affairs division, as well as its intelligence and spying operation.

The lawsuit detailed an incident during Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding in Italy in 2006, where Remini asked about the whereabouts of David Miscavige's missing wife, Shelly. As a result, she was subjected to psychological torture aimed at rewriting her memories. The process, known as a "Truth Rundown," was described as a form of psychological torture used by Scientology to erase a person's memory and implant new ones.

According to the lawsuit, Remini was punished for her inquiries about Shelly Miscavige and for filing reports on David Miscavige and others. The suit also highlighted the disappearance of Shelly Miscavige in 2007, which Remini reported when she left the church in 2013.

Remini's lawsuit argues that the Church of Scientology violated her First Amendment rights, and she is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for the significant economic and psychological harm she has suffered.

The Church of Scientology has not responded to requests for comment from TheBlaze or the New York Post regarding the lawsuit.

Leah Remini's lawsuit sheds light on the alleged practices of the Church of Scientology and its treatment of those who speak out against it. The legal action seeks to hold the organization accountable for the harm caused to Remini and others, while also aiming to protect the rights of individuals to share their experiences without fear of retaliation.
