James Woods Explodes On Treacherous Rat John Thune In X Rant That Has GOP Leaders Panicking

Hollywood actor James Woods, long an outspoken conservative voice, is now excoriating Senate Majority Leader John Thune as a treacherous rat and a worthless piece of s*** for what he sees as a betrayal of Republican voters and election integrity.

In a terse but blistering post on X, Woods summarized his indictment of the South Dakota Republican leadership, declaring, No Trump judges, no voter ID SAVE Act, 50 bills already passed by the house in limbo. According to WND, the veteran actor, who has become one of President Donald Trumps most ardent celebrity defenders, is channeling the frustration of many grassroots conservatives who believe GOP leaders are sabotaging their own base.

Woods did not hold back, adding, Pardon my language, but this guy is a worthless piece of s***. Hes worse than a grifter Democrat. Fetterman has done more for the Republican platform than this weasel. Treacherous rat. His fury is aimed squarely at Thunes refusal to move on key conservative priorities, especially election-security measures that enjoy overwhelming public support but remain stalled in the Senate.

Thune has long been viewed with suspicion by Trump supporters, in part because he publicly broke with Trump just weeks before the 2016 election. At that time, Thune posted on X, Donald Trump should withdraw and Mike Pence should be our nominee effective immediately, a statement that many conservatives have never forgotten or forgiven.

The latest broadside from Woods quickly drew notice from Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit, who amplified the criticism of Thunes inaction on voter ID. Hoft wrote, Senator Thune will not even pass Voter ID to save the country an issue that that has over 80% support from the public!

Hoft then pressed the question many on the right are now asking about the Senate leaders true loyalties. Who is this treacherous rat really working for? Its NOT the American people and it certainly IS NOT Republican voters. Calling Thune a treacherous rat is being kind.

As WorldNetDaily reported in March, Woods, a self-described superfan of Trump, publicly announced he is done with the Republican Party, citing the GOPs refusal to defend election integrity and its role in blocking accountability for controversial Democratic figures. He was especially incensed that Republican members of Congress helped kill a motion to subpoena the immigration records of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., a move he saw as emblematic of a broader uniparty culture in Washington.

Woods laid out his disillusionment in stark terms, stating, Lets get my position on the Republican Party crystal clear. Ive been a registered Republican since Bill Clinton turned the Oval Office into his own personal brothel. He continued, Now that Senate Majority John Thune refuses to protect election integrity, I am disgusted with my party. I will NEVER vote for a Democrat in my life, but the RINO elements destroying the Republican party are a disgrace.

The actor emphasized that his loyalty is now to Trump and to conservative principles, not to the GOP establishment.

I am a devout follower of President Trump, and as a registered Independent will continue to vote with Republicans when they stand behind this great President and act like Republicans again.

Democrats, the ragtag band of con artists and grifters that they are, manage to work together in lockstep, but getting Republicans to accomplish anything is like herding cats. Its absolutely infuriating.

Woods has been particularly vocal about the SAVE Act, a voter ID and election-security measure that he says is being deliberately bottled up in the Senate by Thune. He charged, Sadly weasel John Thune is blocking the voice of the people. Somebody must have some serious dossier on this guy, that he would block the will of a super majority of Republicans and a healthy majority of Democrats.

Highlighting the rare bipartisan support for stronger election safeguards, Woods argued that the obstruction is not accidental but coordinated. It may be the only thing both Democrats and Republicans have agreed on in years, yet the leaders of both parties, Schumer, and Thune, are blocking it with all their might. The deal stinks to high heaven.

His anger at Republican leadership extends beyond Thune to those who, in his view, shield controversial Democrats from scrutiny.

Woods shared video of a visibly frustrated Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., who said of Omar, I tried to subpoena her immigration records, her brother husbands immigration records, and it was Republicans that killed my motion.

That episode was the final straw for Woods, who wrote atop the clip, I am done with the Republican Party. He added, Between this and Thunes refusal to pass the SAVE Act, Im done with these uniparty traitors. Im changing my party affiliation to Independent. No wonder President Trump is fighting an uphill battle every day.

Woods has also turned his fire on Democrats in deep-blue states, warning that left-wing governance is driving once-prosperous regions into decline. Last month, as WorldNetDaily noted, he blasted Democrat California gubernatorial hopeful Xavier Becerra, saying, This guy is the absolute worst. Hard to believe California could get worse than it is under [Gavin] Newsom, but this guy Becerra just might actually have the ability to drag it into the depths of hell.

The escalating rhetoric from Woods underscores a widening rift between conservative voters and the Republican establishment, especially on core issues like border security, voter ID, and holding Democrats accountable. As figures like Woods abandon the GOP label while pledging continued support for Trump and genuine conservative policies, the pressure on leaders such as Thune will only intensify, raising the question of whether the party will side with its base or continue down the path of what many on the right now deride as uniparty politics.
