Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert is publicly standing by her alliance with Rep. Thomas Massie after President Donald Trump blasted her on Truth Social and threatened to revoke his endorsement in Colorados 4th Congressional District.
The clash erupted over the weekend after Boebert traveled to Kentucky to campaign with Massie, a libertarian-leaning Republican who has frequently bucked GOP leadership and the America First base. According to Gateway Pundit, the President responded with a blistering Truth Social post, denouncing Boeberts decision and signaling he may support a primary challenger if a viable candidate emerges.
In his message, the President accused Boebert of opportunism for leaving Colorados 3rd District, where her reelection prospects had tightened, and running instead in the more conservative 4th District. He wrote, Is anyone interested in running against Weak Minded Lauren Boebert in Colorados Fourth Congressional District? You remember Lauren moved to the District when it became obvious that she couldnt win in her original Congressional District (The Third!) A Carpetbagger, indeed!
The President went further, blasting her decision to campaign with Massie, a frequent critic of Trump-era policies and a reliable vote against conservative spending priorities and border security measures. Boebert is campaigning for the Worst Republican Congressman in the History of our Country, Thomas Massie, of the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, and anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight! the post continued, underscoring his frustration with both lawmakers.
Signaling that his support is conditional, the President reminded voters that his endorsement is not guaranteed if he believes a stronger America First candidate steps forward. Even though I long ago endorsed Boebert, if the right person came along, it would be my Honor to withdraw that Endorsement, and endorse a good and proper alternative. Just let me know, or announce your Candidacy, and I will be there for you! he declared, effectively inviting challengers.
Boebert, who has built her brand on loyalty to the MAGA movement, responded on X by acknowledging the rebuke while refusing to distance herself from Massie. Yes, I saw the Presidents post. No, Im not mad or offended. I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie. I was, and will be, America First, America Always, and MAGA. Onward, she wrote, attempting to reassure grassroots conservatives of her continued alignment with their priorities.
Despite the Presidents call for an alternative, the window for a serious primary challenge in Colorados 4th District has effectively closed, at least for this cycle. The official filing deadline for major-party candidates to appear on the June 30 primary ballot was March 18, and that date passed nearly two months ago, while Massie himself faces his own primary test this Tuesday in Kentucky.
