A chaotic teen takeover in Chicago turned violent when a police cruiser was repeatedly rammed by another vehicle as a late-night crowd swarmed, cheered, and filmed the confrontation for social media.
The clash unfolded at approximately 12:43 a.m. Wednesday, during what authorities described as a teen takeover on city streets, according to Sean Hannity. Footage circulating online shows a vehicle repeatedly pushing a Chicago police cruiser backward while a crowd encircled both cars, shouting and recording the mayhem on their phones.
At several points in the video, individuals can be seen climbing onto the police vehicle as officers struggled to maneuver through the mob. The disturbing scene marks the latest in a growing pattern of street takeovers plaguing major Democrat-run cities, where large groups block intersections for dangerous stunts, burnouts, and viral clips instead of respecting law and order.
Authorities later arrested 19-year-old Maximus Wyderski, charging him with misdemeanor reckless driving and fleeing or attempting to elude officers, along with nine separate vehicle citations. But Wyderski insists police arrested the wrong person and that he was simply a bystander caught up in the chaos.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, he claimed he was merely watching the gathering when his car battery died and he tried flagging officers down for help. The second cop, he pulls right behind me, gets out of his car, and tells me to get the f out, put my hands up, and then he arrests me, Wyderski said.
And then he said that I was a part of an alleged street takeover and then charged me with all that. Wyderski has denied being the driver seen ramming the police cruiser, underscoring the confusion and disorder that often accompany these lawless street occupations.
The unrest did not end with that incident. A second street takeover reportedly erupted Friday night in Chicagos Hegewisch neighborhood, according to Alderman Peter Chico, with video showing masked individuals banging on another police cruiser and blocking officers from leaving.
It remains unclear whether any arrests were made in the second episode, raising further questions about enforcement under Chicagos progressive leadership. Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez blasted city officials and demanded a tougher crackdown on everyone involved in the gatherings.
Im very much concerned only one person was arrested, Lopez said. In a sea of stupidity we only caught one criminal fish.
Everyone there is breaking the law, he added. Everyone there is contributing to the minors there who are breaking the law and all of them are putting each others lives at risk.
