Joy Behar used her platform on ABCs The View to accuse President Trump and his administration of only caring about white children, reviving the tired Democrat tactic of smearing Republicans as racists whenever policy arguments fall flat.
According to Gateway Pundit, Behars remarks came during a segment in which she launched into a tirade against the Trump administrations record on children and foreign aid, while her co-hosts offered little pushback. Since The View operates under the ABC News umbrella, critics argue it is fair to describe Behar and her colleagues as ABC News employees and to hold the network accountable for the rhetoric it chooses to broadcast.
Behar began by asking, You know what gets me? prompting co-host Whoopi Goldberg to respond, What gets you? We get you but what gets you. Behar then claimed, What gets me is this sort of this lie that they care about children. They seem to care about white children, but like when they say more Trump babies, what does that mean? Okay, Im just asking the question.
She went on to assert, And I would like to just remind people that this administration dismantled USAID, which helped children around the world. They cut $13 billion in foreign aid resulting in an estimated 500,000 children dying and 4.5 million children under five could die by 2030 due to largely preventable diseases like pneumonia, diarrhea, HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis. Behar concluded her attack by declaring, So dont tell us you care about children. You only care about these children that you call Trump children.
When co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin interjected, But it is accessible to any American, Behar tried to steamroll the point, saying, But that Lets look at the over . Griffin clarified, My child is not a trump child, its accessible to anyone who wants to apply for it, only for Behar to snap back, No. Im looking at the overall picture of this administration, and stop BSing me, okay? Thats all.
For many conservatives, this exchange underscores how The View has devolved into a daily exercise in Trump hatred rather than serious political discussion, with reflexive accusations of racism substituting for facts or balanced analysis. As long as ABC News continues to air what critics describe as partisan garbage, it invites scrutiny not just of its daytime talk programming, but of its broader credibility as a news organization.
