A self-described lefty lesbian lawyer who was purged by New Yorks far-left attorney general for questioning transgender medical interventions on children has now been tapped to help police potential abuses in that very industry at the Federal Trade Commission under President Trump.
According to Gateway Pundit, Glenna Goldis, formerly an assistant attorney general in New Yorks consumer fraud bureau, was dismissed by radical Attorney General Letitia James after she publicly challenged the safety and honesty of so-called gender-affirming care for minors.
Goldis had already drawn the ire of Jamess office by participating in a July FTC roundtable on transgender procedures in her private capacity, where she warned, Gender identity, the way it is defined by gender doctors, has no definition. For an administration that claims to champion science, Jamess team appeared unwilling to tolerate even a liberal critic who questioned the ideological dogma surrounding puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
In late January, Goldis announced on X, Today I was fired by NY Attorney General Letitia James for speaking out against pediatric gender medicine (PGM). She emphasized that her official work did not work on anything related to PGM, yet since 2024 Id been raising the alarm publicly and within NYAG that PGM providers may be engaged in a dangerous consumer fraud. Jamess officials treated me like a pest. That a consumer fraud lawyer was punished for warning about possible fraud in a lucrative medical niche underscores how deeply progressive politics have captured blue-state law enforcement.
Goldis later published a detailed critique of Jamess stance on her Substack, calling out the attorney generals Empty Threat Against Responsible Doctors. I used to work for James, she wrote, adding that She fired me on Jan. 22 because my public critique of trans legal arguments undermines [Jamess] mission, work and efforts (including litigation positions), and credibility.' The message from Jamess office was unmistakable: ideological conformity on transgender issues would trump both open debate and consumer protection.
The Daily Wire first reported that Goldis has now been hired by the FTC as a senior litigator in the Bureau of Consumer Protection, where She will spearhead investigations into any potential harms from so-called gender affirming care. FTC Public Affairs Director Joe Simonson praised the move, saying, Glenna is an extraordinary, brave, and intelligent woman with an impressive history of working on consumer protection matters. We are so excited to have her aboard.
Her new role suggests that, at least at the federal level, there is growing willingness to scrutinize the powerful medical and ideological interests behind pediatric gender medicine.
In January, Goldis discussed her firing with Megyn Kelly, further detailing how dissent on transgender policy is being silenced even among liberals who dare to question the prevailing narrative. As more whistleblowers like Goldis step forward, the clash between aggressive gender ideology and basic consumer protectionespecially for childrenwill likely intensify, and her position at the FTC places her at the center of that critical fight.
