During a recent appearance on NewsNation's "The Hill," Adm. Brett Giroir, who previously served as the Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services, expressed grave concerns over the current measles outbreak in the United States.
He attributed the resurgence of this preventable disease to a decline in vaccination rates, emphasizing the urgent need for action. Giroir stated, "The cases we are seeing and the three deaths weve had this year are a result of a lack of vaccination."
According to Breitbart, Giroir highlighted the severity of the situation, describing it as "by far the most serious measles [outbreak] weve had in decades." He urged parents to consult with healthcare professionals to ensure their children receive the necessary immunizations.
Giroir lamented the potential loss of the U.S.'s status as a nation that had previously eliminated measles, calling it "horrifying and its embarrassing" for a country known for its technological advancements. He stressed, "Its actually shameful."
Giroir also called for decisive leadership from the Trump administration and Secretary Kennedy, advocating for an unequivocal endorsement of the measles vaccine. He remarked, "The measles vaccine does not cause death and suffering like measles. It is quite a safe and very effective vaccine."
His comments underscore the importance of maintaining public health through vaccination, a stance that aligns with conservative values of personal responsibility and safeguarding individual freedoms by preventing disease outbreaks.
