In a recent display of her characteristic candor, rapper Nicki Minaj launched a scathing critique of Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom, targeting his overtures to the transgender community.
Newsom, during an interview with The New York Times, expressed his support for transgender youth, stating, "I want to see trans kids." He further emphasized his commitment by noting, "I have a trans godson. Theres no governor who has signed more pro-trans legislation than I have. No one has been a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ community."
According to Western Journal, Minaj took to social media platform X to unleash a barrage of sarcasm aimed at Newsom's remarks. She questioned the governor's priorities with a post that read, "Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that," accompanied by an image of Chucky from the horror film "Childs Play."
Minaj continued her critique by asserting, "Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids. Not Gav."
Minaj's commentary did not stop there. She further mocked Newsom's political persona, describing him as "the cute boy who got everything handed to him b/c of how cute & sexy & hot & smoking he was." In a playful jab at his style, she remarked, "Sitting there in that suit with the sneakers on. He thinks hes Tom Cruise only difference is, his next mission IS impossible. He should get another leading role."
Her posts continued with a mix of humor and derision, as she predicted a bleak political future for Newsom. "Oh Gavvy pooh, it only gets worse from here for you, buddy. Its the end of the road for you, my love," she wrote. In a final piece of advice, Minaj suggested, "Get on the nearest jet ski & let that beautiful hair blow in the wind. It will make you happier than this race that you will not win. Enjoy life. Peace."
Minaj is no stranger to controversy, particularly when it comes to her political views. Last month, she stirred the pot by voicing support for President Donald Trump's efforts to protect Nigerian Christians from persecution.
She emphasized the importance of religious freedom, stating, "No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We dont have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other." She also expressed gratitude to President Trump, saying, "Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Lets remember to lift them up in prayer."
Minaj's outspoken nature and willingness to challenge liberal figures like Newsom underscore her alignment with conservative values, particularly in her advocacy for religious freedom and critique of progressive policies. Her comments reflect a broader sentiment among conservatives who prioritize traditional values and question the motives behind certain progressive agendas.
