CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss is set to host her inaugural special alongside Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk in a town hall scheduled for mid-December.
This hour-long event promises to delve into Kirk's personal experiences, including the tragic loss of her husband, Charlie, as well as her perspectives on the current political landscape. The town hall is slated for December 13 at 8 p.m., as announced by CBS' parent company, Paramount. During the event, Kirk will engage with questions from young evangelicals, religious leaders, and individuals from various political backgrounds.
As reported by the Daily Caller, the town hall will be held in front of a live audience in New York. Weiss expressed her anticipation for the event, stating, Like so many people around the world, I will never forget the moment that Erika Kirk forgave her husbands killer. I am eager to speak to her and thrilled to be doing so in front of a group of Americans who I know will elevate the conversation.
Erika Kirk assumed the role of CEO at Turning Point USA following the tragic assassination of her husband, Charlie, on September 10 at Utah Valley University. Since then, she has made several public appearances, notably delivering a poignant speech at her husband's memorial where she forgave his alleged killer.
Weiss, known for her efforts to steer CBS away from its perceived left-wing bias, has initiated significant changes within the network. Her approach includes dismantling the race and culture unit and attempting to recruit prominent figures such as Fox News' Bret Baier and CNN's Scott Jennings, although both have denied plans to join CBS. This strategic shift underscores a commitment to fostering a more balanced and efficient news platform.
