A confidential recording from a private meeting held on December 11, 2021, in the official state office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has resurfaced.
The recording is gaining attention due to shocking revelations that 70 members of the Somali community in Minnesota were involved in the theft of $250 million in federal COVID child-feeding funds.
The recording, which was initially released by American Experiment, captures Ellison expressing sympathy, encouragement, and offering assistance to a group of Somali-American business leaders. Notably, several of these individuals would later face charges or convictions in what is now known as the largest COVID relief fraud scheme in U.S. history, as reported by Gateway Pundit.
The fraudulent operation was orchestrated by the infamous nonprofit organization, Feeding Our Future. The organization is accused of misappropriating an estimated $250 million in federal child nutrition funds. These funds, originally intended to provide meals for underprivileged children, were instead used to fund extravagant lifestyles, including the purchase of luxury homes, foreign real estate, and jewelry.
The audio recording reveals Ellison's dismissive attitude towards state agency oversight. He pledges to "fight" for the very individuals who investigators believe were deeply involved in a complex network of wire fraud, money laundering, and fraudulent meal claims across Minnesota.
In a concerning development, Ellison's campaign and that of his son, Jeremiah Ellison, received campaign donations from individuals associated with Feeding Our Future shortly after the meeting. One of these donors was Gandi Yusuf Mohamed, a person publicly identified as being involved in laundering over $1.1 million in program funds.
In the recording, Ellison can be heard stating, "we are in the middle of the battle with the agencies now." He also asserts that "Walz agrees with me that this piddly, stupid stuff running small people out of business is terrible." Ellison further agrees with the proposition that there is state agency discrimination against East African businesses.
Ellison also boasts that "Just being able to say, just getting the question, just getting the inquiry from the AG is sometimes enough to make people knock it off." He further acknowledges, "Money is freedom."
The recording captures a request made to Ellison to intervene on behalf of these small businesses, which are subject to what is described as racist government overregulation. Ellison assures his audience, "Of course, I'm here to help," and "Let's go fight these people."
Ellison has dismissed the recording as a "smear." However, the audio evidence speaks for itself.
Ellison's spokesman issued a written statement to KSTP, stating, "When the AG arrived, he was surprised to find others present but agreed to meet with them." The spokesman added, "It is a shame that these fraudsters tried to exploit the Attorney General's good faith engagement, but they were not successful. Nothing happened as a result of the meeting. Feeding Our Future was raided by the FBI in January of 2022, and the people who orchestrated this plot are sitting in prison."
This scandal comes on the heels of allegations against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Employees from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) have accused the governor of orchestrating a cover-up to protect a Somali immigrant fraud ring that stole more than $1 billion in taxpayer funds and punishing whistleblowers who attempted to expose it.
According to DHS insiders, Walz not only ignored early warnings but also retaliated against agency employees who raised concerns. His administration is now accused of using political intimidation, monitoring, threats, and agency manipulation to suppress evidence and silence witnesses.
These allegations, if proven true, could have far-reaching implications for the governor's office and the state of Minnesota.
