In a significant development, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed the apprehension of over 150 illegal migrant sexual predators in Florida.
This operation, which she referred to as "Operation Dirtbag," underscores a concerted effort to enhance public safety in the state.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, Secretary Noem emphasized the importance of collaboration with the DeSantis administration in achieving these results. During an appearance on "Fox & Friends," she stated, "Our partnership with Florida is absolutely amazing. This operation was called Operation Criminal Return. I call it Operation Dirtbag because these individuals were sex offenders."
She further elaborated on the nature of the crimes, noting, "But not just sex offenders. They targeted children. So sexual assault, battery, attempted homicide." The removal of these individuals from the streets, she asserted, is a step toward ensuring the safety of children and communities. "These 150 individuals will be gone off of our streets. Our kids will be safer," she affirmed.
Noem also highlighted the partnership with Governor DeSantis as a model for national replication, stating, "This partnership with Governor DeSantis in Florida is a model that we want to replicate across the country."
The operation stands in stark contrast to the approaches taken by governors in more liberal states. For instance, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has been criticized for resisting similar initiatives aimed at safeguarding citizens, such as the DHS's 'Operation Midway Blitz.' This divergence in policy highlights the ongoing debate over state-level responses to illegal immigration and crime.
The success of Florida's operation may serve as a compelling argument for adopting more stringent measures nationwide, aligning with conservative values of law and order.
