University of North Carolina's head coach, Bill Belichick, has vehemently dismissed circulating rumors suggesting his imminent dismissal from the institution.
In a spirited defense, Belichick invoked President Donald Trump's terminology, labeling the reports as "fake news."
According to Breitbart, Belichick responded to the speculation with palpable frustration, describing the reports as garbage. He stated, Its never been anything but that. Whoever that story came from, its already been taken down and everything else, adding, Its just total as Trump would say fake news. Its just a novel. Look, our consistency has been here since the day that Michael Lombardi and I came in and started hiring people and came into the organization in December.
Belichick further elaborated on the situation, emphasizing the stability and continuity he and Lombardi have brought to the program since their arrival. We got in the same day and have been doing it every day, and thats the way its gonna be. Im sure theres a lot of other people that want to get clicks and views and posts on myface or whatever. Its just a bunch of garbage, he remarked.
Despite his illustrious 23-season tenure with the New England Patriots, where he secured six Super Bowl victories, Belichick's transition to college coaching has been challenging. His current record with the Tar Heels stands at a disappointing 2-5.
Speculation about internal discord, particularly with UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham, has been rife, though both parties have refuted such claims. As Belichick prepares for another ACC matchup against Syracuse, the focus remains on turning the season around and silencing the critics.
