Tuberville And Roy Raise Security Concerns Over Reports of 'Religious' Activity In The Capitol During Shutdown

Republican lawmakers, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), have raised concerns over alleged activities of Islamic extremist groups in the U.S. Capitol Building during the government shutdown.

The legislators are reportedly seeking the release of video footage that purportedly shows members of the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas-affiliated Muslims from the group Americans for Justice in Palestine Action (AJPAction) using the Senate bathrooms for religious rituals.

According to Breitbart, investigative journalist and activist Laura Loomer disclosed the lawmakers' intentions in a post. She quoted the legislators as saying, "following my expose of the Muslim Brotherhood and HAMAS affiliated Muslims from @AJPaction having secret meetings with Congressional and Senate Democrats during the government shutdown on Tuesday, they are going to be contacting Capitol Police and asking them to release the surveillance footage from inside the Capitol so the American people can see these jihadi Muslims praying on prayer Mats and walking around the Capitol in Islamic garb where they used the Senate bathrooms to wash their feet for Islamic prayers."

Loomer also stated that the lawmakers concurred with her view that the American public deserves to know which legislators met with Islamic terrorist affiliates during the shutdown. This revelation comes in the wake of Tuberville's disclosure on a recent episode of Loomer Unleashed, where he claimed his staff had witnessed "women dressed niqab," and "men praying on the floor of the Senate and washing their feet in the bathroom."

In Tuberville's words, "They were using the bathroom for an opportunity to prepare for their prayer. You know, and I dont know how they do it in the Muslim countries, but since they have been coming to [the] United States of America, they stop traffic, they get in Times Square, they do everything they possibly can to showcase what theyre doing and who they are."

As reported by Breitbart, Rep. Chip Roy had earlier in October introduced legislation aimed at protecting Americans from Islamic Sharia Law. The Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act, co-sponsored by Reps. Randy Fine (R-FL), Tim Burchett (R-TN), and Keith Self (R-TX), proposes to bar "foreign nationals who observe Sharia law" from entering or remaining in the country.

Tuberville has also been vocal about the threat posed by radical Islamic extremism to the United States. Speaking on the Senate floor, he recalled the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, saying, "Twenty-four years ago, September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 innocent Americans were murdered in a coordinated terrorist attack carried out by radical Islamic extremism. That day changed this country forever."

He further highlighted other attacks as evidence of "the ongoing presence of extremist ideology in America," emphasizing that these were not just attacks "against people," but rather "an all-out assault on Western culture, freedom, and the values that we hold dear."

In a similar vein, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) reportedly reintroduced legislation in July that would designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization. The Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act of 2025 aims to identify Brotherhood branches explicitly engaged in terrorism.

Cruz stated, "The Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization, and it provides support to Muslim Brotherhood branches that are terrorist organizations. One of those branches is Hamas, which on October 7 committed the worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, which included the murder and kidnapping of at least 53 Americans."

These recent developments underscore the lawmakers' commitment to safeguarding American values and freedoms from the perceived threats of radical Islamic extremism. Their actions reflect a broader conservative perspective that emphasizes the importance of national security, traditional values, and individual freedom.
