Trump Launches Major Lawsuit Against the New York Times!

President Donald Trump has initiated a substantial $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times, targeting the publication for alleged defamation and libel.

This legal action, which he announced on Monday night, also names four of the newspaper's reporters and publisher Penguin Random House as defendants. The lawsuit, filed in a Florida court, accuses the parties of causing reputational harm, as detailed in documents obtained by Reuters.

According to Breitbart, President Trump expressed his frustration on his Truth Social platform, stating, "The New York Times has been allowed to freely lie, smear, and defame me for far too long, and that stops, NOW!" He criticized the publication as a "virtual 'mouthpiece' for the Radical Left Democrat Party," accusing it of spreading falsehoods about his family, business, the America First Movement, MAGA, and the nation.

The lawsuit references several New York Times articles, including an editorial questioning his fitness for office ahead of the 2024 presidential election, and a book by Penguin titled "Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Fathers Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success."

The President also took issue with the newspaper's endorsement of Kamala Harris in the upcoming election, reiterating his view of the Times as a partisan entity. This lawsuit follows a recent settlement by Paramount, which paid $16 million to resolve a Trump lawsuit concerning election coverage on CBS News' "60 Minutes."

President Trump had accused the program of editing an interview with Kamala Harris to her advantage. Additionally, in July, he filed a $10 billion lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch and The Wall Street Journal over an article linking him to Jeffrey Epstein. These legal actions underscore President Trump's ongoing battle against media outlets he perceives as biased against him.
