S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) apprehended 27 individuals in Franklin, New Hampshire, over a two-day operation this week.
This crackdown, which unfolded on Tuesday and Wednesday, was part of a broader initiative targeting illegal drug activities linked to the notorious Mexican Sinaloa Cartel. The operation not only resulted in numerous arrests but also led to the confiscation of illicit substances.
The DEA, in collaboration with the Franklin Police Department, concluded a meticulous three-month investigation into the city's drug trafficking scene. As reported by American Military News, the agency's efforts culminated in "27 arrests, multiple search warrants, and significant seizures."
This operation underscores the DEA's commitment to dismantling drug networks that pose a threat to American communities.
On the first day of the operation, DEA agents and local law enforcement officials detained 17 individuals, executed three search warrants, and seized approximately $100,000 in cash, illegal narcotics, and a firearm. The following day saw an additional 10 arrests and the clearance of a homeless encampment that had been utilized for drug distribution.
The DEA's investigation was initiated after intelligence pointed to a drug trafficking network operating within Franklin. Throughout the probe, agents and detectives engaged in surveillance, evidence gathering, and case building, setting the stage for this week's decisive action.
Jarod Forget, Special Agent in Charge at the DEA's New England Field Division, highlighted the operation's impact on the Sinaloa Cartel's influence in the region. "This case is an excellent example of how federal leadership and local cooperation can come together to protect communities like Franklin from the dangers of drug trafficking," Forget remarked.
His statement emphasizes the importance of collaboration between federal and local agencies in combating drug-related crimes.
Franklin Police Department Chief Dan Poirier echoed this sentiment, expressing pride in supporting the DEA's efforts. "By working together, we were able to remove a significant drug trafficking operation from our community," Poirier stated.

The DEA's New England office took to social media to share images of the arrested individuals and the seized assets, tweeting, "Twenty seven people in Franklin, New Hampshire have just been arrested!
