Julian Epstein, who once served as the chief counsel for the Democratic House Judiciary Committee, recently offered a scathing critique of his own party.
During an appearance on Fox News Channel's "Faulkner Focus," Epstein described the Democratic Party as resembling "a cult that worships these weird progressive idols."
As reported by Breitbart, Epstein's comments came in the wake of the Democratic National Committee's Summer Meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He remarked, "I think what I was watching yesterday looked more like a Star Trek convention. This is a party that has almost no self-awareness. The approval numbers, two-thirds of Americans disapprove of the party. Their fundraising numbers, the voter registration numbers are all dropping through the floor as the party associates itself with things like gender sterilization for minors, open borders, high crime. The party is almost becoming like a cult that worships these weird progressive idols."
Epstein further criticized the party's tactics, likening Tim Walz's actions to "the Taliban criticizing someone for religious intolerance."
Epstein continued his critique by highlighting the party's perceived disconnect from the average voter. "This is a party that just stands for negativity and for aligning itself on issues that are far to the left of the median voter," he stated.
He emphasized the lack of relatable ideas being presented to centrist voters and pointed to a leadership vacuum, mentioning figures such as Schumer, Jeffries, and Obama. Epstein argued that these leaders have failed to challenge the party's progressive wing, which he believes is steering the Democrats further away from mainstream America.
