President Donald Trump extended his congratulations to the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain for its decision to retain its original logo following significant public backlash against a proposed rebranding.
The company, known for its traditional American fare and rustic charm, announced its decision on Tuesday, expressing gratitude to its patrons for their feedback.
Cracker Barrel's statement read, "We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our Old Timer will remain."
The company emphasized its commitment to its core values, stating, "At Cracker Barrel, its always been and always will be about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon."
As reported by Breitbart, the redesign was initially part of a broader $700 million modernization initiative, which included updated restaurant interiors and new menu offerings. Despite this, the company faced criticism from customers who found the new logo lacking in character.
Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Felss Masino defended the changes in an interview with ABC News, asserting, "People like what were doing. Cracker Barrel needs to feel like the Cracker Barrel for today and for tomorrow the things that you love are still there. We need people to choose us, and we want people to choose us."
President Trump, in a post on Truth Social, praised the company's decision to revert to its original branding. He stated, "Congratulations Cracker Barrel on changing your logo back to what it was. All of your fans very much appreciate it. Good luck into the future. Make lots of money and, most importantly, make your customers happy again!"
Prior to this, he had urged the company to heed customer feedback, describing it as "the ultimate Poll," and suggested that the situation presented a unique opportunity for Cracker Barrel to capitalize on the publicity.
The President's remarks underscored his belief in the power of consumer opinion and the potential for businesses to thrive by aligning with traditional values and customer preferences. His comments also reflected his broader economic philosophy, emphasizing the importance of making America a "WINNER" on the global stage.
