Scott Jennings Torches Democrats: Says Trump Exposed Their Total Failure At Running Americas Big Cities

Written by Published

Republican strategist Scott Jennings has highlighted the underlying reasons for the Democratic Party's discontent with President Donald Trump's recent initiatives in Washington, D.

C.

Jennings argues that the President's actions have exposed the inefficiencies in the management of American cities under Democratic leadership.

On August 11, President Trump declared a federal intervention in Washington's Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to address the escalating crime rates in the district. This decision came shortly after Edward Coristine, a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staff member known as "Big Balls," was gravely injured while thwarting a carjacking attempt.

Jennings contends that the President's move serves as a demonstration that urban centers need not be "overrun" by criminals or illegal immigrants.

According to the Daily Caller, Jennings expressed his views on "CNN Newsroom" with host Jessica Dean, stating, "I think Democrats here are squealing because a Republican President is showing up in blue cities, places that have been run for decades by Democrats that are overrun with violent crime and overrun with illegal immigration and theyve done nothing about it. And even worse, they have encouraged it. It was soft on crime local policies and so the real issue here is political. Its just that Democrats are being exposed as being crappy at running big cities."

President Trump has also taken to Truth Social to criticize Democratic leaders in other cities. He addressed Maryland's Democratic Governor Wes Moore, offering to deploy the National Guard to tackle Baltimore's rampant crime. Similarly, he directed comments at Chicago's Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson, emphasizing the need for intervention.

Since the federal crackdown commenced in the nation's capital, significant progress has been reported. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on X that 1,007 arrests have been made and 111 firearms have been confiscated.

Jennings further elaborated on the President's intentions, stating, "And Donald Trump is showing up to show the people there, hey, it doesnt have to be this way. And oh, by the way, if we bring down the rates of violence and the rates of illegal immigration, thatll be a great thing to go along with it."

The President's actions underscore a broader conservative critique of Democratic governance in urban areas, emphasizing the need for stronger law enforcement and immigration policies. As the federal intervention continues, the effectiveness of these measures remains a focal point of political discourse.
