Trump Torches MSNBC Over Rebrand: A Total FAILURE No Matter What You Call It!

President Donald Trump has taken aim at MSNBC's recent rebranding effort, expressing his disdain in a fervent social media post.

The network's decision to rename itself as "My Source News Opinion World," or MS NOW, has been met with sharp criticism from Trump, who labeled the move a "FAILURE BY ANY NAME" in an all-caps message on Truth Social.

He asserted, "MSNBC IS DOING SO POORLY IN THE RATINGS THAT THEY ARE LOOKING TO CHANGE THEIR NAME IN ORDER TO GET AWAY FROM THE STENCH OF THEIR FAKE NEWS PRODUCT."

As reported by Fox News, MSNBC's rebranding is part of a broader strategy by its parent company, Comcast, which is spinning off the network into a new entity called Versant. This new company will also encompass other NBC brands such as CNBC, USA, Oxygen, and E!, with CNBC retaining its name but adopting a fresh logo.

The rebranding aims to mitigate "brand confusion," according to Mark Lazarus, who will lead Versant. Lazarus emphasized that MS NOW will maintain its focus on a progressive audience while striving to hold political figures from both parties accountable.

Trump's criticism extended to Comcast's leadership, as he described the company's CEO, Brian Roberts, as "dopey" and accused him of "hopelessly and aimlessly flailing in the wind." Trump further remarked, "SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH THEIR WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE OWNER, CONCAST,' HOPELESSLY AND AIMLESSLY FLAILING IN THE WIND IN AN ATTEMPT TO DISASSOCIATE ITSELF FROM THE GARBAGE THAT THEY CREATED! MSNBC IS A FAILURE BY ANY NAME!!!"

The rebranding has sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with some users likening the new name to a failed software product or a charity fundraiser. Despite the backlash, MSNBC remains committed to its audience, stating on its website, "Regardless of our name, our commitment to this community remains as strong as its ever been and in the months ahead we will unveil new ways to connect with you directly."

In a separate post, Trump targeted MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" host Nicolle Wallace, predicting her imminent dismissal. He shared a meme portraying Wallace as a clown and criticized her as "a loser, with bad ratings, who was already thrown off of The View. She will be fired soon! MSNBC IS DEAD!" MSNBC has yet to respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
