Kamala Harris recently addressed the contentious issue of redistricting in Texas, a topic that has sparked significant debate.
During a meeting with young Latino leaders, Harris expressed her concerns about the efforts led by Republican legislators in the state. The video of this gathering was shared on her social media platforms over the weekend, drawing attention to her remarks.
According to the Gateway Pundit, Harris stated, Its going to take all of us to fight back against Republican redistricting efforts in Texas. Im so proud of the Democrats in the state legislature. They have shown immense courage and are putting up one hell of a fight.
Her comments, however, seemed to lack clarity and enthusiasm, leaving the young Latino leaders seemingly unimpressed. Harris further criticized the Republican approach, asserting, When things dont go the way Republicans want, they cheat and lie. This statement was seen by some as a projection of her own party's tactics.
Harris continued her critique by referencing the legislative environment, noting, This is not a census year but this is a year with the Big Beautiful Bill! And the unpopularity of it and so [the Republicans] want to bend the rules! Her remarks concluded with praise for the Texas Democrats who have been absent from the state legislature in protest.
