Actor Tom Cruise has reportedly declined an invitation from President Donald Trump to attend the Kennedy Center Honors, citing "scheduling conflicts" as the reason for his decision to forgo one of the nation's most esteemed arts accolades.

This information was shared by several Kennedy Center employees with the Washington Post, who noted that the Mission: Impossible star had to turn down the prestigious award due to these conflicts.

As reported by Breitbart, President Trump, who is set to host the event, announced the honorees for the 48th Kennedy Center Honors on Wednesday. The 2025 list of honorees includes iconic figures such as actor Sylvester Stallone, country music legend George Strait, English actor Michael Crawford, the rock band KISS, and the celebrated singer Gloria Gaynor.

In a heated response, Ana Navarro, co-host of The View, urged Gaynor to reject the honor, labeling President Trump "a stain on the prestige and significance of the KCH" and imploring, "Dont do it, Gloria!" Despite Navarro's appeal, Gaynor has not publicly addressed these remarks. Instead, she shared an X post from the White House on her Instagram Stories, celebrating her recognition as one of this year's honorees.

Gaynor expressed her gratitude to Fox News, stating, "I am beyond blessed and honored to be receiving this award." She emphasized her commitment to continuing the inspirational legacy initiated by her hit song "I Will Survive," adding, "Sharing my music and art on a global level to provide encouragement, hope, empowerment, inspiration, understanding, and unity is the core of my purpose."

The singer further articulated her dedication to a creative journey aimed at helping others, hoping that the Kennedy Center honor will bolster her efforts in this endeavor.
