Newly released FBI documents have implicated Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) as a potential source of damaging leaks intended to undermine President Donald Trump.
These revelations also cast a shadow over the already tarnished reputation of Representative Adam Schiff. The FBI's 302 interview summaries, now accessible to Congress through the efforts of FBI Director Kash Patel, reveal that a whistleblower identified Swalwell as a frequent source of leaked information, prompting the need for counseling on discretion.
According to Gateway Pundit, Emmy-winning investigative journalist Catherine Herridge has obtained a declassified FBI interview summary from 2017 concerning intelligence leaks from the Russia investigations. While the identity of the interview subject remains redacted, it is suggested that the individual is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
The FBI report, known as a '302,' states, "noted Swalwell has been the source of a lot of leaked information and had to be counseled to be more careful." Herridge has reached out to Representative Swalwell's office for comment.
In response to these allegations, Swalwell took to social media, launching a vehement tirade against Kash Patel and those reporting the facts. On X, he declared, "More bullshit in service to Trump to try and keep me quiet. Come get me, Kash. This Trump stooge long ago put me at the top of his books enemies list. This nonsense is just more of that. I wont be silent."
In another post, he dismissed the whistleblower's claims, stating, "This whistleblower made this bullshit up when Trump was President. If they had anything, they would have indicted me. Trump would have done anything to destroy me if he could have. They didnt indict me. Therefore, they had nothing. Whats next?"
Swalwell further lashed out at critics and reporters, accusing them of neglecting to include an Inspector General report that he claims refutes the allegations. He remarked, "And when reporters fall for this, and dont give full context (like an IG report saying this is all BULLSHIT) the death threats roll in. Great work!"
This is not the first time Swalwell has faced controversy over his judgment and credibility. His infamous connection and alleged affair with a Chinese intelligence operative should have been career-ending.
However, Democratic leadership shielded him from repercussions, allowing him to retain his position on the House Intelligence Committee for an extended period. The recent revelations only add to the scrutiny surrounding his actions and associations.
