Trumps Top Supporter Shocks Alabama With Senate Run To Replace Tuberville!

Republican Representative Barry Moore of Alabama has officially declared his candidacy for the U.

S. Senate, aiming to fill the seat soon to be vacated by Senator Tommy Tuberville, who is pursuing a gubernatorial bid.

Moore made his announcement through a campaign video featuring his wife, Heather Moore, which was shared on the platform X.

As reported by the Daily Caller, Moore, a native of Enterprise, Alabama, is currently serving his third term in Congress. He has been a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, claiming to be the first elected official to endorse him during his initial presidential campaign in 2015.

Moore, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, first entered Congress in 2020, representing Alabamas 2nd Congressional District, and successfully secured reelection in 2022. However, a federal court ruling in 2023 led to redistricting that altered the political landscape, making the 2nd District more favorable to Democrats.

Consequently, Moore shifted his focus to the 1st District, where he triumphed over former incumbent Republican Rep. Jerry Carl in a competitive primary.

Moore's entry into the Senate race adds to an expanding roster of candidates. Among his Republican rivals is Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, a well-established figure in statewide politics, having been elected in 2018 and reelected in 2022.

Jared Hudson, a former Navy SEAL and previous candidate for Jefferson County Sheriff, was the first Republican to announce his candidacy for the seat.

On the Democratic front, the contenders include Kyle Sweetser, a business owner and former Republican who spoke at the Democratic National Convention last summer, Dakarai Larriett, an entrepreneur from Birmingham, and Mark Wheeler, a chemist from Heflin with a background in the wire manufacturing industry.
