President Donald Trump has revealed plans for a White House press conference aimed at addressing the surge of violent crime in Washington, D.
C.
This announcement was made through a post on Truth Social, where he expressed his determination to transform the city into one of the safest in the world. "D.C. has become one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the World. It will soon be one of the safest!!!" he declared.
As reported by the Daily Caller, this initiative follows a troubling increase in violent incidents within the nation's capital. A recent attack on a 19-year-old former Department of Government Efficiency employee during an attempted carjacking has highlighted the city's escalating crime problem.
The assault left the victim injured and led to the arrest of two 15-year-old suspects. In response, President Trump has bolstered the presence of federal law enforcement in Washington, D.C., directing the FBI, DEA, and Homeland Security to collaborate with the DC Metropolitan Police in a concerted effort to reduce crime.
The President has also hinted at the possibility of federal intervention in the city's governance, stating, "We could run D.C. I mean, were looking at D.C. Were thinking about doing it, to be honest with you. We want a capital thats run flawlessly."
This statement was made during a cabinet meeting, underscoring his commitment to restoring order and safety in the capital. The upcoming press conference, scheduled for Monday at the White House, is expected to further outline these plans and initiatives.
