Actor John Leguizamo has taken a public stance against Dean Cain, criticizing his decision to become an ICE agent.
Leguizamo, known for his outspoken views, expressed his disapproval on social media following Cain's announcement of his new role. This development comes after Cain, who gained fame as Superman, revealed his intention to join ICE, following a recruitment effort led by Homeland Security's Kristi Noem.
According to Mediaite, Cain discussed his law enforcement credentials during an interview with Fox News, stating, "Im actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer." He further elaborated, "So now Ive spoken with some officials over at ICE and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP." This move has sparked controversy, particularly among those critical of ICE's policies.
Leguizamo, who frequently shares anti-Trump content on his platforms, did not hold back in his critique. "What kind of loser volunteers to be an ICE officer?" he questioned in a video post, adding, "What a moron. Dean Cain, your pronouns are has, been." This sentiment is shared by others, as evidenced by a heated discussion on Thursday night.
During a panel, Scott Jennings suggested that Cain's involvement could aid ICE's recruitment efforts, a notion that did not sit well with Ringer podcaster Van Lathan.
Lathan dismissed Cain's relevance, stating, "Scott, its not 95. Nobody gives a Sam Hill what Dean Cain does," and further criticized Cain's motivations, implying financial necessity as the driving force behind his decision.
The debate surrounding Cain's new role highlights the ongoing tensions over immigration enforcement and the public figures who choose to align themselves with such agencies. As the conversation continues, it underscores the broader cultural and political divides that persist in today's society.
