Scott Jennings: Here Are The Blue States Where Democrats Dominate Congressional Maps!

In a heated exchange on Tuesday, Republican strategist Scott Jennings highlighted a series of states where Democrats have exerted significant influence over redistricting, following Democratic objections to a special session of the Texas Legislature.

This session, which Democrats attempted to thwart by fleeing to Illinois and New York, aimed to consider redistricting measures potentially benefiting Republicans with up to five additional seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

As reported by the Daily Caller, the debate intensified when Xochitl Hinojosa, a former official in the Obama administration, asserted that California's redistricting process was fair. Jennings countered by pointing out, Regarding California, Republicans get about 40% of the vote, and they have 17% of the congressional seats. So, not a great example.

He further questioned whether Democrats would label redistricting efforts in other states as election rigging, or if such accusations were reserved solely for Texas. Jennings pressed Hinojosa, asking, And have the elections been rigged in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, New Mexico, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Rhode Island?

The controversy surrounding redistricting is not new. In New York, congressional districts were redrawn post-2022 midterms, threatening the positions of up to six of the 11 Republican House members. Similarly, Illinois Democrats reconfigured districts to unseat two Republicans, including Adam Kinzinger, a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, before the 2022 elections.

Hinojosa defended the actions, stating, They did a normal redistricting process. If states end up before Jennings interjected with, Like gerrymandering? Hinojosa continued, If states end up going and calling special sessions and doing all of these things to try to gain seats, I agree. I dont agree with that. Do I think they need to do it? Absolutely. Because if Republicans arent going to play fair, then Democrats arent going to play fair. And thats the fight that we have to have right now.

Republican strategist Shermichael Singleton added, But Democrats arent playing fair in some of the states we listed.

The ongoing debate underscores the contentious nature of redistricting, with both parties accusing each other of manipulating electoral boundaries to gain political advantage. While Democrats argue that their actions are a necessary response to Republican tactics,
