The Biden administration has been accused of indirectly promoting the sex trafficking of unaccompanied migrant children, while simultaneously allocating billions of taxpayer dollars to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) tasked with their protection.
This damning indictment was made by Alicia Hopper, the President of GUARD Against Trafficking, during a House Homeland Security Committee hearing on July 16, titled "An Inside Job: How NGOs facilitated the Biden Border Crisis."
As reported by Western Journal, Hopper testified that the Biden administration's lack of stringent oversight of federally-funded NGOs has paved the way for rampant human trafficking and sexual abuse of unaccompanied migrant children. She claimed that the pleas for help from these vulnerable children were largely ignored.
In a particularly disturbing exchange, Republican Rep. Eli Crane of Arizona questioned whether the Biden administration had implemented any safeguards to monitor the welfare of the children after they were placed with a "sponsor" through taxpayer-funded NGOs. Hopper revealed that a hotline had been established for children to report abuse or seek assistance. However, she stated that from August 2023 to January 2025, only one employee was assigned to handle these calls.
The shocking result, according to Hopper, was that "65,000 calls went unanswered." Among these missed calls was a distressing report from a boy who claimed that "grown men were coming into his room at night, and they were touching him. Nothing happened with that call," Hopper testified.
Crane expressed his disbelief at the situation, summarizing Hopper's testimony: "So youre telling this committee that the Biden administration, while they were letting all of these unaccompanied minors into the country and as weve talked about today, they werent keeping track of them they issued these kids a hotline that they could call if they had trouble with the sponsor family that they were put with. And youre saying that 65,000 calls to this hotline designated to protect these kids went unanswered. Is that what youre telling this committee?"
"Yes, sir," Hopper confirmed.
Hopper also shared the relieving news that the boy who had reported being molested has since been rescued, attributing this positive outcome to President Donald Trump. In another revealing exchange, Crane asked Hopper if it was easier for a "sponsor" to take custody of an unaccompanied alien child than it was to adopt a dog. Hopper confirmed this, stating, "You actually had to provide more paperwork to adopt a pet from a pet shelter than you did to sponsor a child."
This lax process, Hopper argued, is the reason why more than 300,000 migrant children are currently unaccounted for. She further claimed that migrant children are often sex-trafficked to ruthless pimps who drug them for exploitation by paying pedophiles. These pedophile rings, Hopper warned, operate across the United States, potentially even in your neighborhood.
