Biden Official Admits: He Shouldve Resigned After The 'Afghanistan Disaster'

The former Department of Justice spokesman, Anthony Coley, has expressed his belief that ex-President Joe Biden should have relinquished his position following the calamitous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

According to the Daily Caller, the Biden administration has persistently declined to accept accountability for the disorderly Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021, which resulted in the loss of several American soldiers. No officials involved in the operation have been dismissed or resigned.

Coley, during his appearance on "Meet the Press Now," stated that Biden's political standing was severely damaged long before the 2024 campaign, where age and stamina were frequently questioned.

Coley, who served in Biden's administration, said, "I think what Hunter Biden didnt say is that people started losing confidence in Joe Biden, whom I love, I worked for in his administration, right after the Afghanistan debacle. And remember, that was August 2021. His polling never recovered after Afghanistan."

He further argued that Biden should have stepped down after the 2022 midterms, a time when voters initially supported him due to his perceived competence. "And people voted for Biden, right, in part, because of competence. And so the midterms, I think, gave them that year, gave the Biden team a little more confidence than they should have had. But that was the moment where he really should have bowed out, and we shouldve had a robust primary," Coley explained.

Coley dismissed the notion that Biden's loss in the 2024 election was due to age or travel fatigue. Instead, he attributed the defeat to a loss of voter confidence in Biden's ability to endure, regardless of his message or agenda.

"A lot of things can be true here. So, he was 81 years old, and he did take two trips back and forth from Europe. Given that, thats not why he lost the race, though. You can have the best message in the world, you can have the best policy agenda in the world, but at the end of the day, if you dont have the trust the messenger, somebody that voters think can go the distance, somebody who has stamina then youre gonna lose. And thats what happened at the presidential level in 2024," Coley stated.

Hunter Biden, in a brief, expletive-filled outburst, criticized several Democratic figures he believes contributed to his father's exit from the race. Among those targeted were George Clooney, who was one of the first to call for Biden's resignation, and CNN's Jake Tapper, who recently authored a book revealing alleged cover-ups within the Biden White House.

A report from the Department of Justices Office of Inspector General, released in June, revealed that 55 Afghan evacuees on the terror watchlist arrived in the U.S. during the Biden administration's chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. The FBI confessed that standard screening procedures were bypassed as part of the hasty evacuation effort.

The report concluded that the rushed withdrawal from Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members, led the government to employ inadequate vetting procedures for Afghan evacuees. Biden, who ordered the full military withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, later admitted his surprise at the rapid collapse of the Afghan government, which triggered a chaotic evacuation of thousands.
