In a recent interaction with the press, President Donald Trump expressed his views on the contentious case of Jeffrey Epstein, the financier and alleged child sex offender.
He urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to disclose any "credible" information from the Epstein files.
According to American Military News, when questioned about his agreement with Lara Trump's call for transparency in the Epstein case, President Trump responded, "The attorney generals handled that very well. Shes really done a very good job. And I think that when you look at it, youll understand that I would like to see that also. But I think the attorney general, the credibility is very important. And you want credible evidence for something like that, and I think the attorney generals handled it very well.
The President revealed that he had only received a "very quick briefing" from the attorney general regarding the Justice Department's review of the Epstein files. He further commented on the credibility of the files, stating, "these files were made up by Comey, they were made up by Obama, they were made up by Biden. You know, we went through years of that, with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, with all of the different things that we had to go through, weve gone through years of it.
President Trump commended the attorney general's handling of the situation, adding that it would be her decision on what she deems credible to release.
Last week, a memo from the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) claimed that a "thorough investigation" into the Epstein case concluded that Epstein "committed suicide" and that there was "no incriminating 'client list'" and "no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions.
The memo's release sparked demands for more transparency from many of President Trump's supporters. When asked why his supporters were particularly interested in the Epstein files, Trump responded, I dont understand it, why they would be so interested. Hes dead for a long time. He was never a big factor in terms of life. I dont understand what the interest or what the fascination is, I really dont. And the credible information has been given.
The President further expressed his perplexity over the continued interest in the Epstein case, stating, I dont understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. Its pretty boring stuff. Its sorted, but its boring, and I dont understand why it keeps going. I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going. But credible information, let them give it. Anything thats credible, I would say, let them have it.
The Epstein case continues to be a topic of public interest, with many demanding more transparency and the release of credible information. As the case unfolds, the role of the attorney general in handling the situation and her decisions on what information to release will be closely watched.
