Man Accused Of Killing American Idol Producer Slipped Through The Cracks After Past Violent Crimes

In a shocking turn of events, renowned music producer Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca were found brutally murdered in their California mansion, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect, who had previously been accused of three violent crimes, managed to evade prosecution.

Robin Kaye, a celebrated figure in the entertainment industry, was known for her work as a music supervisor on popular TV shows such as "American Idol," "Lip Sync Battle," and "Hollywood Game Night." Her impressive portfolio also includes multiple stints as music supervisor for prestigious events like Miss USA, Miss Universe, and the NAACP Image Awards.

The couple's mansion, where they met their untimely demise, was heavily fortified. According to KABC-TV, the residence was encircled by an eight-foot wall adorned with spikes and was under constant surveillance by numerous cameras. However, these security measures proved insufficient in preventing the tragic incident.

As reported by Fox News, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a welfare check call on Monday around 2:30 p.m., only to discover the lifeless bodies of Kaye and Deluca, both aged 70. The authorities believe that the suspect entered the home on July 10, bypassing the security measures by jumping the fence and gaining access through an unlocked sliding glass door.

Los Angeles Police Lt. Guy Golan provided further insight into the incident, stating, "He was there for approximately half an hour. When the homeowners returned back to their residence, a violent struggle ensued between them and the suspect, who was already inside their home, which resulted in the victims tragically losing their lives." Lt. Golan added that the killings seemed to be random.

Upon searching the suspect's home in Encino, the police found a handgun, which they believe could be the murder weapon. However, Lt. Golan clarified, "We believe it's the murder weapon, but pending forensic analysis, we're not ready to say so yet."

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murders. According to KABC, Boodarian has a history of violence, including accusations of brandishing a knife and making criminal threats against his stepfather, as well as battery against his mother and sister. However, all these misdemeanor charges were dismissed last year after Boodarian was deemed mentally incompetent.

Criminal defense attorney Lou Shapiro raised some pertinent questions regarding the dismissal of Boodarian's previous charges, asking, "Why was this case dismissed? Was he put on some type of diversion where he proved to the court and everyone that he had since been rehabilitated? Or did he slip through the cracks, and this case was dismissed by accident, which is very rare?"

The couple had previously been victims of a home invasion, as reported by KTLA-TV. Guy Cohen, a security expert who had consulted with the couple, expressed his heartbreak over the incident, stating, "We consulted with them just a couple of months ago, and to think that maybe we couldve prevented this from happening is just heartbreaking."

A spokesperson for American Idol paid tribute to Kaye, describing her as a "cornerstone of the Idol family." The spokesperson added, "[Kaye] was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever, and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.

The Los Angeles Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the case to contact the Valley Homicide detectives or submit tips anonymously at www.lacrimestoppers.org. The tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for effective law enforcement and justice, particularly in cases involving individuals with a history of violence.
