In the wake of a security breach, Elmo's X account was compromised, leading to the dissemination of offensive content.

On Tuesday, the beloved 'Sesame Street' character's team addressed the incident, which occurred two days prior.

"On Sunday, Elmos X account was briefly hacked by an outside party, in spite of the security measures in place," the statement declared. "We strongly condemn the abhorrent antisemitic and racist content, and the account has since been secured." The Sesame Workshop clarified that the inappropriate messages did not originate from them.

As reported by the Daily Caller, the statement further emphasized, "These posts in no way reflect the values of Sesame Workshop or Sesame Street, and no one at the organization was involved." Despite the swift restoration of security to Elmo's account, the organization refrained from revealing specifics about any ongoing investigations or the security enhancements implemented post-breach.

The incident saw a flurry of posts on Elmo's X account, some of which contained antisemitic rhetoric and others that criticized President Donald Trump, urging the release of Jeffrey Epstein's files. The hackers also made disparaging remarks about Trump and his alleged ties to Epstein. Representatives from the Sesame Workshop condemned the posts as "disgusting," informing Elmo's 650,000 followers that an "unknown hacker" was responsible for the offensive content, as noted by the BBC.

"Elmos X account was compromised by an unknown hacker who posted disgusting messages, including antisemitic and racist posts," a spokesperson stated. The organization assured followers, "We are working to restore full control of the account," according to the BBC.
