Nigel Farage's local DOGE team has uncovered a startling revelation: taxpayers are footing the bill for fast food and mini-golf outings for illegal migrants.
This discovery has sparked criticism that the government is prioritizing the welfare of migrants over that of its own citizens.
Earlier this year, Reform UK, under the leadership of Nigel Farage, took control of ten local councils during municipal elections. The party swiftly implemented a government efficiency program inspired by the efforts of Elon Musk and President Donald Trump in the United States to eliminate waste and abuse.
As reported by Breitbart, the party's first report on questionable spending by English councils has been released, highlighting expenditures primarily on illegal migrants and alleged asylum seekers. The party, sharing its findings with the Mail on Sunday, revealed that over 118,000 had been spent on fast food from outlets such as Dominos, McDonalds, and Pizza Express, primarily through the education budgets of the ten councils.
The taxpayer-funded entertainment for migrants extends beyond fast food. Over 10,000 has been allocated for Netflix and Disney+ subscriptions, with additional thousands spent on outings to safari parks, circuses, and even crazy golf. Kent County Council, in particular, was found to have spent 162,077 on Amazon, including 2,966 transactions for supposed asylum seekers. Further expenditures included 70,056 at Argos and 11,521 at Currys, all from their migrant budgets.
Zia Yusuf, a multi-millionaire businessman appointed by Farage to lead the DOGE team, expressed his dismay at the findings, stating, Its clear that those who came to the country illegally are enjoying better lifestyles than many of the taxpayers who fund all this. Small boat migrants get a free life of leisure, while British families struggle to find the time and money to take their own families out.
Alp Mehmet, chairman of Migration Watch UK, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the hidden costs of the uncontrolled asylum system. He noted, Families are happy to pay for their children to come illegally because minors are accepted more readily and then looked after in the way that has been unearthed. In due course the rest of the family will be able to join them.
In response, Kent County Council attempted to justify the expenditures, claiming that most of the funds were directed towards unaccompanied child migrants or to assist asylum seekers aged 18 to 25 in furnishing their first apartments in the country. However, the findings from the Reform DOGE team only pertain to councils under the party's control, suggesting that the actual cost of local spending on illegal migrants is likely much higher.
This does not account for federal spending, which, according to a study by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), indicates that housing tens of thousands of asylum seekers is costing taxpayers approximately 4.7 billion annually. In total, a record 5.38 billion was spent on asylum seekers in the 2023/24 fiscal year, marking a 36 percent increase from the previous year.
These revelations raise significant questions about the priorities of government spending and the impact on taxpayers. As the debate over immigration and asylum policies continues, the need for transparency and accountability in government expenditures becomes increasingly critical.
