Sam Haskell Jr., the progeny of esteemed Hollywood agent Sam Haskell, was discovered deceased in a Los Angeles jail on Saturday, in what is being reported as a suicide.

This tragic event occurred mere days before he was to appear for a preliminary hearing concerning charges that he murdered and dismembered his wife.

As reported by Daily Caller, law enforcement verified that Haskell died while detained at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility. TMZ disclosed that he allegedly ended his life by slitting his wrists, although officials have yet to release an official cause of death. Haskell had entered a plea of not guilty to the heinous charges of murdering his wife, Mei Li Haskell, along with her parents, Gaoshan Li and Yanxiang Wang, in 2023. The accusations included dismembering their bodies, placing them in trash bags, and enlisting day laborers to dispose of the remains.

The laborers became suspicious when Haskell claimed the bags contained rocks, yet they felt "squishy," according to TMZ. Upon inspection, one worker discovered human remains, prompting the crew to return the bags to Haskell's driveway, refund his payment, and depart. Subsequently, one laborer alerted authorities by calling 911.

Surveillance footage, as obtained by TMZ, captured Haskell loading the bags into his vehicle and later discarding items in a dumpster several miles away. A homeless individual, while scavenging through the trash, reportedly found a woman's torso in one of the bags and notified the police. Haskell was promptly apprehended and charged with three counts of murder.

The L.A. County Coroner confirmed the torso was that of Mei Li Haskell, though the remains of her parents remain undiscovered. The family, which included Haskell, his wife, her parents, and their three children, was reportedly experiencing financial difficulties at the time of these tragic events.
