In a recent turn of events, former Fox News host and current podcaster, Tucker Carlson, has come under fire from President Trump.
The President's ire was ignited when Carlson, who has previously expressed his disdain for Trump, predicted that the President's tenure would be jeopardized if the U.S. were to intervene in the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. In a text message to a friend in 2021, Carlson had stated, "I hate him passionately."
The situation between the two escalated on Monday when Carlson, during an appearance on Steve Bannon's "War Room" show, asserted that Iran would be the President's downfall. Despite professing his love for Trump and describing him as a "deeply humane person," Carlson maintained that any U.S. involvement in Iran would "end Trump's presidency."
According to RedState, news of Carlson's comments reached President Trump in Canada, where he was attending the G7 Summit. When asked about Carlson's assertion that Trump was "complicit in the [Israel-Iran] war" during a press conference with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the President responded assertively. He suggested that Carlson needed a larger platform, as he "didn't know what" the podcaster was talking about.
Following this, President Trump posted on Truth Social, urging someone to explain to "Kooky Tucker Carlson" that Iran must not be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon.
Throughout his "War Room" appearance, Carlson expressed his disapproval of the U.S. engaging in military action against Iran, stating such involvement would "scuttle the USS America on the shoals of Iran." This is in stark contrast to Trump's firm stance that Iran should not be permitted to have nuclear weapons, a position that seems to irk Carlson.
Israel has reportedly made some progress in disabling Iran's nuclear facilities, but Israeli leaders have conceded that they cannot entirely eliminate Iran's nuclear capabilities independently.
Whether President Trump will decide to deploy U.S. forces to completely obliterate Iran's nuclear facilities remains uncertain. However, Susie Moore of RedState reported intriguing news from the G7 Summit on Monday evening: President Trump is cutting his Canada trip short and will meet with his national security team upon his return to the White House.
Tensions in the Middle East seem to be escalating. On Monday evening, after declining to sign a lukewarm statement on the Iran-Israel situation proposed by other G7 leaders, President Trump posted a warning on Truth Social, advising immediate evacuation of Tehran.
Shortly thereafter, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt tweeted that Trump, who had arrived in Canada on Sunday evening for the G7 summit, would be returning home after Monday's dinner.
At the time of this report, Tucker Carlson had not yet responded to the President's comments.
RedState will continue to provide updates on President Trump's return to Washington, DC, and the unfolding situation in the Middle East.
