In a recent critique of Minnesota's political climate, former NFL player Jack Brewer has voiced strong disapproval of Governor Tim Walz's leadership.
Brewer, who has a history with the Minnesota Vikings and other NFL teams, expressed his concerns following the shootings of Democratic state Sen. John Hoffman and former Democratic state House Speaker Melissa Hortman. He accused Walz of fostering an environment conducive to extremism and violence, stating, "We need to start calling this what it is. These people have lost their minds," as reported by Fox News Digital.
According to the Daily Caller, Brewer's criticism comes amid rising crime rates in Minnesota, which have drawn significant backlash against Walz and his administration. Brewer, who spent years in Minnesota both as a player and resident, lamented the state's transformation under Democratic leadership.
"I am heartbroken to see one of the most amazing states in America completely turned around under Gov. Tim Walz. Minnesota is confused," he remarked. Brewer attributes this shift to what he perceives as a descent into left-wing radicalism, a sentiment he believes is not reflective of the state's true character.
Brewer's comments highlight a broader concern among conservatives about the direction in which Minnesota is heading. He reminisced about a time when the state was marked by civility and respect, contrasting it with the current atmosphere. "I played for the Vikings. I played for the Gophers. I lived in Minnesota for years. It was not like this. People were respectful. People could disagree and still have conversations," Brewer said. He further criticized the influence of liberal politics in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas, suggesting that it has overshadowed the values of the state's residents.
"Minnesota has become the capital of chaos in America. Thats not right. Its not a reflection of the true people of Minnesota," he added.
Brewer's remarks underscore a growing frustration among conservatives who feel that their values are being overshadowed by liberal policies. He specifically pointed to Governor Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison as key figures in this shift, expressing concern for the safety and well-being of those still residing in Minnesota.
As Brewer observes from his current home in Florida, he contrasts the political climates, noting a lack of "radical left-wing nonsense" in his new state.
