NYPD Top Cop Says The Quiet Part Out Loud!

During a recent appearance on Newsmax TV's "National Report," NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell expressed his frustration over the lack of consequences for lawbreaking protesters in New York City.

Chell highlighted the challenges faced by law enforcement officers who arrest individuals for illegal activities, only to see them evade accountability. "For the cops, its kind of frustrating, because we lock people up, but there [are] really no consequences for being in the street or throwing things," he remarked.

As reported by Breitbart, Chell drew a comparison between New York City's approach and Florida's more stringent legislative measures. He referenced a show featuring Governor Ron DeSantis, noting that Florida's laws regarding protest activities are more severe, resulting in tangible consequences for offenders.

"So, those are called consequences. Will we get them in New York City? Probably not. But if we had them, we wouldnt be doing this every night," Chell stated.

The issue of law enforcement's ability to maintain order during protests is a pressing concern, particularly in cities with lenient policies that may inadvertently encourage repeated offenses. The contrast with Florida's approach underscores a broader debate about the balance between maintaining public safety and upholding civil liberties.

While New York City grapples with these challenges, the question remains whether adopting stricter measures akin to those in Florida could deter unlawful protest activities and restore a sense of order.
