As the United States gears up to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Army on Flag Day, a dedicated group of American patriots is set to descend upon Washington, D.C.
Their mission is not to bask in accolades but to serve those who serve the nation.
In a May announcement, President Donald Trump confirmed the long-anticipated military parade celebrating the Army's 250th anniversary, established by the Continental Congress, will indeed occur in Washington, D.C., on June 14.
This date holds personal significance for President Trump, who shares his birthday with the Army, turning 79 this year. According to Fox News, the festivities will include a parade, a parachute jump, a concert, fireworks, and a speech by President Trump.
He expressed his enthusiasm on Truth Social, stating, I am proud to announce that we will be hosting a magnificent Parade to honor the United States Armys 250th Birthday, on Saturday, June 14th, in Washington, D.C.
For two and a half centuries, our brave soldiers have fought, bled, and died to keep us FREE, and now we will honor them with a wonderful Parade, one that is worthy of their service and sacrifice. Americans across the Nation are invited to attend.
John Rourke, an Army veteran and founder of We Fund The Blue Foundation, leads a coalition of volunteers, chefs, and donors to provide meals for over 8,500 soldiers and Department of the Army civilians.
This initiative, part of the largest military parade in modern American history, aims to honor these heroes with the finest Wagyu beef from Texas, courtesy of award-winning chef Austin Simmons. The operation is made possible through a collaboration between FedEx and Freight Transportation Group, with owner Dragos Sprinceana ensuring timely delivery. Orion Power and donor Hansel Orion Bailey have generously funded the beef.
Rourke emphasized the mission's significance, stating, This is about giving back to the men and women who give everything to this country. Were going to serve them with the best food, the best volunteers, and a whole lot of love for America. This effort, known as BBQ for the Brave: 250 Strong, is part of a broader movement led by Rourke and his team.
Their recent endeavors include serving over 2,500 troops at Naval Station Guantnamo Bay and supporting more than 6,000 first responders during California wildfires. Through the Make America Clean Again initiative, Rourke's nonprofit has also removed over 131,000 pounds of trash across the nation, demonstrating a commitment to patriotism through action.
