The public spat between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the billionaire at the helm of Tesla and SpaceX, has taken center stage on social media, drawing in commentary from various quarters, including a potential political aspirant for 2028.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, known for his outspoken nature on "First Take," joined the fray with a post on X, responding to Musk's provocative suggestion of forming a new political party aimed at representing the moderate majority in America.

Musk's inquiry, "create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle," resonated with Smith, who has often voiced his discontent with the current political landscape. Smith's response was enthusiastic:

"Mr. @elonmusk Im all for moving America to the CENTER. Im definitely down for that cause! Sign me up!!!" His statement reflects a broader dissatisfaction with both major political parties, particularly criticizing the Democrats for their handling of issues such as open borders, excessive spending, and the promotion of identity politics and cancel culture.

Smith has also been critical of President Trump, particularly regarding the administration's approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

As reported by Fox News, Smith has hinted at the possibility of a presidential bid, suggesting he might have "no choice" but to consider entering the political arena. Meanwhile, the relationship between Trump and Musk, once seemingly amicable, has soured over disagreements, notably concerning the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which Trump has championed.

The discord escalated when Musk took a swipe at Trump's past association with Jeffrey Epstein. However, the White House clarified that Trump had distanced himself from Epstein, having expelled him from his Palm Beach Golf Club. Furthermore, the administration had already made the Epstein files public, which included Trump's name, rendering Musk's insinuations as lacking novelty.

In response to Musk's remarks, Trump took to Truth Social to express his views. "I dont mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress," he stated, emphasizing the significance of the "big, beautiful bill" currently under Senate consideration.

Trump highlighted the bill's potential to reduce expenses by $1.6 trillion and deliver the largest tax cut in history. He warned of dire consequences, including a 68% tax increase, should the bill fail to pass. "I didnt create this mess, Im just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" Trump asserted.
